Inspired by................... Surry Hills

New section of the blog. It's called Inspired by. I go around to certain places of my amazing city, Sydney and then get inspired by them for posts (these posts are included in Inspired by).  I'll also take lots of pictures. This week I went to Surry Hills, it was great!

I started at the Sparkle Cupcakery
I am an absolute lover of cupcakes. I mean who isn't. Cupcakeries are really popular in Sydney. I love them so much especially Sparkle. It has the coolest cupcakes. Green tea flavour! I mean where do you see green tea cupcakes?!? I took some pictures, except the lighting wasn't all that great.

Yum! Anyway, I was defiantly inspired. Inspired to share a green tea cupcake recipe!

Anyway the trip continued and I stopped at Holy Kitsch! (321 Crown St, Surry Hills)
Holy kitsch is like a Mexican inspired sorta gift, home-ware and jewellery shop. It's really cool. I love mexican art and culture the skulls are beautiful in an odd creepy sort of way. Anyway, the shop is very cool. Any one who is coming to or lives in Sydney I recommend you going there. I ran into another blogger which  was good and I gave her my blog address and hope to get her blog address. Here are the pictures I took.
I love you
I love this necklace. It wouldn't
suit me but I still love it.

Inspired by the word

And I was inspired. All this food. It made me think of another post inspiration.

Top 5 pizza making and eating tips.

1. Make your own base
2. Use the freshest ingredients possible
3. Don't be afraid to experiment
4. Stay away from fast food pizza chains (Pizza Hut) their food is PACKED with chemicals and calories
5. Pizza is better enjoyed with friends.

Next, I went to pop shop. A little shop that sells funny objects, toys and cards. I love it. You can't help having a little chuckle to yourself. And I got inspiration from it. Look at the photos and then you can see how exactly I got inspired.
This is actually soap

Yes you can eat these. I don't think I'd want to though

You would have to look very busy

My brother says this to me all the time!
No kidding!

Inspired again
What does this inspiration resolve in?
..........................................

Movember
Yes, at pop shop one thing came to my mind and that thing was Movember. I have realised I actually spend a lot of time at design shops and everywhere I look I see little moustaches. At Typo, I see lots of Keep Calm an Grow a Moustache on pencil cases, drink bottles and pens. I love Movember and this year so many brands are getting into it. Really, though Movember is about raising awareness for men's health, men grow moustaches and this raises awareness. There's no real way I can support this. I mean, I'm not gonna grow a moustache but I do like to come on for the ride. Get the cool retro designs and support it in my own way.

My last spot was the Zoo Vintage Emporium
It was great! I love vintage clothes and at the moment it ties in with a lot of trends. I was inspired to do a short info block on vintage clothing. First, have a look at the pics I took.

Inspired by Zoo Emporium

I am a huge lover of vintage clothes.  Vintage is basically a fancy word for second hand. My personal style is retro urban sleek so it ties in well with vintage. Vintage can be really expensive and formal or low key and cheap. It can be really really cheap.

5 Reasons Vintage is Awesome
 1.     It’s one of a kind. If you have a vintage piece, there’s a pretty small chance someone has the same one as you. Unlike if you go to Target and buy a t-shirt there’s a pretty big chance of your best friend buying the exact same one.

 2.     It environmentally friendly. If everyone just reused clothes instead of buying new ones everytime our world would be in a better state.

 3.     It plays along with trends. Trends are on and off, many make comebacks so you can find in fashion things at vintage store.

4.     It’s not as expensive as buying brand new stuff (most of the time)

     5. There’s so much variety.  Vintage stores can stock stuff from very long ago. 20’s,  80’s, 40’s 60’s, you can find them all at vintage stores. That’s decades of looks, styles and trends.

Next week, I think I'm going to Darlighurst. If you have any ideas for places to go to, leave them in the comment box or email us.
